Colds and birthday update

Well we are slowly recovering from another round of colds. I’m doing the worst is seems. After a busy week last week, we are basically homebound this week.
N was able to go to see a live music show Friday night. Saturday we spent in our jammies, mainly because he wanted a lazy day, but also because mama felt pretty rotten. Actually N worked from home on Monday to give me a break. It’s really great that GM lets him work at home from time to time. It was a huge help to me.

Today his Zender Airdam came via FedEx. It was his birthday present to himself (well from all of us). He was so excited to see it. It doesn’t look like much to me, but he claims he’s wanted one forever. Walt (the white Scirocco) is going to look “cool” when it get’s this new airdam.

R gave him a painting for his b-day and I think that he really liked it. It’s totally modern art. Here are some pictures of R making his daddy’s gift…

Forgot to let you know...

I lost 4 lbs when I weighed in on Wednesday.

As for today, we are having a lazy Birthday for N. He requested that we do a whole lot of "nothing" for his special day. Might as well, the weather here is still below freezing and it snowed yesterday. They are calling for more flurries this afternoon. What a birthday!

Weight update

Saff had her 2 month well child visit today. She now weighs 11lbs and 1 oz. She is 22 ¾” long. I plopped R down on the scale too. His weight said 25.0 lbs!!! That’s up another half pound! Yay!

Now us grownups are fatter than ever. I re-joined weight watchers last week. I weigh 12 lbs more than I did when I joined last April. Of course that’s all baby weight, but I can really feel it. I’m sad to say that I’m still wearing maternity pants. WW’s takes into account breastfeeding, so I’m eating still eating quite a bit of food. My first weigh in is tonight and I really hope that I’ve lost at least a pound or two. That’s how the program works, you are not supposed to really lose more than two pounds a week. Slow is healthiest.

I hope to report good news tonight after bedtime.

I’ve also started seeing a chiropractor. I really like her. My body’s feeling pretty worn out after the birth and now the strain of (often) carrying two kids at once. When we are in parking lots or other high traffic areas, I often carry Saff in that darn carseat (gotta weigh a ton) and R on my opposite hip. Combine that with the 10 lb diaper bag slung over one shoulder and you can see how my back would start to hurt. Long trips away from the car, I just use the stroller. But I have to come up with a solution for shorter trips. Once it’s warmer I can use my mei tai more, but with coats it’s a little more complicated.
