Okay friends (and family), today we put a "verbal" offer on a house. We will put the official offer in tomorrow.

It's a doozey inside, a cross between kick-ass midcentury modern architecture, disgusting 1970's decor and odd french inspired antiques. All we really care about are the midcentury modern bones. We also like the wooded 1 acre lot. It will need quite a bit of work in the long run but is livable with a few quick fixes. I hope they are willing to negotiate... it's been on the market for almost 3 years.

We shall see. Anyone want to help with a "painting party"?

Cutest stuffed animals & house "fever"

These are the little knitted animals Auntie PJ gave the kids. I think they are the sweetest!

N & I officially have house "fever". We can't stop looking at Realtor.com and have even done a few "drive by's". Now that we have two kids, we feel really cramped in our 1000 sq/ft house. We might even go look at one with the listing agent...

Happy Easter!

What a weekend! Auntie PJ and Uncle CJ came for a visit from NY. They brought “cousin” Maggie with them (the pooch). They arrived Friday and we had a lovely dinner of Indian take-out.
Early Saturday, we all went to the Zoo… little did we know it was “Bunnyville” and packed. We saw some animals, had some lunch and booked it home in time for naps.



During the nap, the J’s, Saff and I walked around downtown Royal Oak for a while...
After naps we dyed eggs (and a cloth diaper or two).
We ended the evening with a traditional Easter dinner: ham, green bean casserole, roasted veggies, rolls, etc. We went to bed eagerly anticipating the arrival of that elusive bunny.



First thing this morning we hunted around our house for eggs filled with goodies. R found a dozen eggs and promptly filled his tiny tummy with sugary goodness.


After playing with all our new goodies and opening gifts from PJ & CJ, we made Denver omlettes and bloody marys (okay those of us nursing and the underage crowd skipped this activity). Soon after, Daddy had to take the J’s and Miss Maggie back to the airport.
As of this moment my dogs and my children are all out cold. Happy Easter!!!

Thoughts to ponder

This was read at my fellowship group last night and it really resonated with me... I like my profound with a good dose of funny.

A wine bottle fell from a wagon and broke open in a field.

That night one hundred beetles and all their cousins Gathered
and did some serious binge drinking.

Pictures and random pre-Easter thoughts

Two things about this picture should interest you... 1) my hand has henna on it and 2) it's snowing in our front yard... on April 18th.

I went to a lovely motherblessing for my friend on Sunday night. Another dear friend did her henna and asked if anyone wanted some of the leftovers. I thought, what the heck? She did this little design and I think it's a neat reminder of the blessing and the mother-to-be. It's much darker than the henna I had on my pregnant belly and that lasted two weeks. I wonder how long this one will last?

Second, it's was snowing yesterday. Come on! Someone needs to shake Mother Nature. We are OVER this weather.

This next picture is today's craft project afixed to the front door.
These finger painted eggs should ensure that Mr. Easter Bunny stops at our house. We are all excited for Mr. Bunny and for Auntie PJ and Uncle CJ's impromtu visit. We encourage all family who wants to visit us in the frigid north to come soon. We ordered new furniture for R's room this weekend. Once we get it, his old furniture will go to turn our guest bedroom into a nursery. Come while you still can. You have six weeks. :)

Saff is 12 weeks old today. Guess I have to stop using "weeks" now.
