In the Market
Sorry it’s taken me so long to post. I wanted to make sure that the people closest to us heard our news first. So, most of you already know that we are both in the market for new jobs. Nico left his previous job a few weeks ago and we are both actively hunting. The market is tight in Michigan right now, but we are confident that we will find what will work best for our family.

Changes around here
Things are changing around here. I'll have more to post soon.
The kitchen project is getting back on track.
We had a lovely dinner at our house last night with friends. I dusted off my Indian cookbook and Dad's old high chair. Discussions were great. It's so nice to have well-informed friends again and ones with children to boot.
Since my friend opened her etsy shop, I’ve been dreaming of creating fun things that I could make and sell. I’m really interested in imagination based play and am thinking that I could make AP style, doll accessories. In particular, doll sized cloth diapers, carriers, and diaper bags. In gendered and gender neutral designs. Please send me your thoughts.
Tootles!

Getting better...
We are recovering from the plague and are trying to establish some sort of routine for the new year. Once again, I’ve been the sickest for the longest. I’m really trying to avoid another round of antibiotics, but it seems that I’ve become prone to sinus infections.
I’ve been doing a lot of research on discipline and different types of education. I’m not sure if we need to get the boy onto a preschool waiting list yet or not. This is all so very new to me.
Nico’s loving the snow and I’m actually glad he put “aggressive” snow tires on each of our vehicles. I didn’t think they would make much of a difference, but I was way wrong. I actually have more confidence driving with snow than I ever have before. I’m not going to join him in doing donuts, but still, way more secure.
Not buying things is harder than I anticipated. We weren’t major consumers so I didn’t think it would be much of a problem.
Nap time is almost over, so I gotta run. We’ve gotten some good pictures lately and I’ll have to post them soon. Here's some funny ones I tried to get around Christmas.

Thanks for the cool Christmas head gear Nonna. Sorry, we aren't always photogenic.

Sick again
Sick, sick, sick. All of us. Fevers, chills, congestion... sorry if we infected anyone.
Going to bed now. Praying that Dr. Nyquil does his job.

Today was another busy day. We had a morning play date and then a quick nap. We’re still working on holiday leftovers so dinner was a conglomerate of several previous dishes. The first and third Tuesdays are my fellowship group and it’s always so nice to leave the “boys” to their own devices.
I start my Beaumont Parenting Program Volunteer training this week. Yay!

We’ve already been challenged with our New Year of Nothing New. Yesterday we returned an item to Target (received a duplicate) and sure enough we wanted to buy some organizing bins. We refrained. We really need to organize some of the chaos in our basement. When we got home, I found an old shoe box and made a greeting card organizer out of it. It’s not very fancy, but it’s functional. Maybe I could decoupage it??? I’m open to suggestions.
I’m also regretting that I didn’t stock up on pajamas before we started this. I really don’t think I can buy them second hand. Thank God I got some new ‘jams for X-mas.
Kitchen is on hold. Nico’s swamped at work and putting in some overtime. He’s also got a really cool “test” car to drive around this week. I almost didn’t know he was home tonight, we are so used to the VW with virtually no exhaust. We can hear him coming from about a mile away. (He’s got the parts to fix it, just hasn’t found the time).
Ronin still isn’t walking. It’s only mildly worrying me. I’ve considered that there might be a problem, but I don’t really think so. I figure he’ll do it when he’s good and ready. He’s started using several new signs and can now say “thank you” in addition to all the other words he signs and speaks.
My friend just started up an etsy store. Please check it out!

Happy New Year
Happy New Year. We rang in a good one with Grandpa P and Grammy S.
Ronin has had a hard couple of weeks, but the incisors are all finally through. I would say this is the hardest round of teething yet.
My little man got lots of great gifts and here's a shot of him on X-mas Eve.
So far, so good on the New Year with Nothing New. We hit the Salvation Army on Saturday and found a few good deals for N and Roni, but nothing for me. I've decided that pictures don't count. I've got to be able to get our photos developed and many of them are sent off to you family members. So, pictures don't count in the "nothing new" catagory.
