Also on Tuesday my lovely fellowship group (through the UU church) threw me a surprise baby shower. I was under the illusion that we were having an equinox gathering and low and behold all was pink when I walked in the door. Here’s a picture of the cake…
The whole thing was just fabulous. I was both surprised and moved by all their thoughtfulness. I am blessed to have such wonderful friends!
On Wednesday Kristen came and helped around the house. She is the post-partum doula that I hired to help me transition to two kids. She’s been helping me for the last month. But we both agreed that I have the hang of this “two-kid-thing”. We will miss her, especially the little man. He was absolutely in love with her.
Thursday we went to the Kulick Center in Ferndale and played in the Children’s Corner. He loves the large plastic dinosaurs and play power tools. Such a boy. Then that night we had another family over for Indian food. She had never had it before, so we ordered quite the spread. We had a nice time, but it’s funny how early functions end when everyone has young children.
Today we went to an open house for a similar kid thing, this one is called PlayAway. It’s really close to our house, so if the hours and price work out… it might be a nice rainy (or snowy) day option. Then we had Indian food (again) for our friend’s birthday lunch.
What a busy week!
