Summer's gone...

And it seems like no time at all another summer is gone!

This year we have TWO children in school.  R is in the first grade at our local public school and S is in preschool at the University.

And just as soon as we sent them off to school, V turned one.

More Birthday

The family party was last Saturday.  We welcomed several friends and family members to our new-ish house.

We were so happy that Ivana was able to make us another fabulous cake.  They are so incredibly good too. 

My birthday

My birthday was swell.  I got a free drink from Starbucks, my boss let me leave work early, and my family took me out to dinner so I didn't have to cook.  Good times!

First come's my little man's day...

We celebrate by opening up family gifts first thing in the morn.  Here are the guys at the breakfast table working on legos:

S gave her brother a lego set.  He also got one from us.  In addition to the legos, we gave him a Little House picture book, some new rainboots and his mama made gift was a new winter hat.

The birthday ring with his "5" and his new (mama made) spider.  I just finished up the skull, but didn't get it done in time for the parties. 

His "friend" party was the night of his actual birthday.  Here they are in their costumes:

Crafting

I haven't posted much lately because between school and my job I have very little free time.  In that free time I'm crafting.  My boy's birthday is nearly here and I promised him a quilt.  A whole quilt.  There's a lot more too.  I'll have pictures for you soon.  But for now, I've got to get back to my sewing machine.

Happy Birthday to Daddy!

His Birthday was on the 26th!  He's a cool 37 (dang that sounds old!). 

We celebrated by wrapping up his modest gift in homemade wrapping paper...

And then we made him his favorite dinner: Lasagna.  For dessert, we made him a German Chocolate Cake.  I think he liked it!

Birthday Party!

Though I was a bit behind on my tasks when folks started to arrive, it was still probably the best birthday party I've ever had.  It was a blast!  I was too busy enjoying myself to get many pictures, but I did get a couple of the cake my friend Ivona made.

Four years ago today, we welcomed a sweet, sensitive, amazing little man into our lives.

We are truely blessed that he chose us to be his parents!

A little more birthday...

I just wanted to show off the birdhouses the kids painted.  This one belongs to R.  It's blue... of course.

This is the cool centerpiece that Nonna made for the bird themed party.  She brought the little birds with her from Kansas City.  The branch is borrowed from a neighbors shrub.  So sweet.  I've got a repurpose in mind for it, so stay tuned.
