Thanksgiving at Grandad's

For Thanksgiving we made the long haul to Kentucky.  It was a brutal 11+ hours in the car there and nearly that long home.  We left Wednesday morning and arrived that night.  We had a lovely visit with the family and left again Saturday morning.  It really was a whirlwind, but I'm so glad we got to spend some time with the Kentucky family!

R was thrilled to get a scooter and a helmet for Christmas:

 This is the sunrise right before we left.  Not only is Kentucky beautiful, but Grandad's place is especially beautiful. 

Epic Family Reunion

I didn't hardly get any pictures!  What with that trip to the ER and all, and it just went by so fast.

Back from Lake of the Ozarks.

We went to what is being described as the "Epic Family Reunion: 2013".  We've got the mugs to prove it! 

Anywho, besides those mugs, the only souvenir we got was a (first) trip to the ER.  Ms. S had a run in with a set of stone steps trying to keep up with the bigger kids. 

She'll be fine.  They cleaned it out and glued it back together.  These are the shots in the car on the way back from the ER.   It's a bit more bruised these last few days, but much less than I anticipated!

The long weekend at Grandad’s house was very fun and a good vacation for us all. We enjoyed Grandad’s new outdoor kitchen and rarely went inside.

As for the house, the repairs were done and we are scheduling our inspection for this Thursday. We still have not heard from the bank. Hopefully, we’ll have some good news soon. Here are the pictures of the outside N took a week or so ago.
