The other day the littles were in S's room playing on the floor.  I was cleaning up dinner.  I hear R tell S...   "... you have an en China."  It took me a moment to process that comment. 

Seems there had been a discussion between Daddy and R the night before about what made girls and boys different.  Ah ha!

Priceless.

Garlic-lemonade tea

So, once again, my head cold has turned into a sinus infection.  *sigh*

In addition to the neti pot (sinus rinses), I'm drinking this tea (my own recipe adapted from one read in a book)...

Garlic-Lemonade Tea

2 (or more) garlic cloves
Juice of half a lemon
1 Echinacea-Elderberry Tea bag
Enough honey to make it palatable

Thinly slice the garlic and add it to the strainer.  Juice the lemon and pour over the garlic.  Add the tea bag (or loose leaf).  Pour in boiling water.  Steep as long as possible, but serve warm.  Add in enough honey to make it go down.

One of my favorite blogs is Root Simple.  They are an urban homesteading, book writing couple that focus on issues reminiscent of my permaculture training.

Their book review for today ends with my new favorite phrase... "before vengeful Mayan time travelers zap the interwebs in December".   Priceless!

That was so quick!  The car was listed just after noon and it was sold by 4:30 pm!
