Happy Halloween!

It's Halloween

  It's Halloween! It's Halloween!
The moon is full and bright
And we shall see what can't be seen
On any other night.

Skeletons and ghosts and ghouls,
Grinning goblins fighting duels,
Werewolves rising from their tombs,
Witches on their magic brooms.

In masks and gowns
We haunt the street
And knock on doors
For trick or treat.

Tonight we are
The king and queen,
For oh tonight
It's Halloween!

Birthday!

First come's my little man's day...

We celebrate by opening up family gifts first thing in the morn.  Here are the guys at the breakfast table working on legos:

S gave her brother a lego set.  He also got one from us.  In addition to the legos, we gave him a Little House picture book, some new rainboots and his mama made gift was a new winter hat.

My old birthday banner looked nice hanging in our family room...

The birthday ring with his "5" and his new (mama made) spider.  I just finished up the skull, but didn't get it done in time for the parties. 

His "friend" party was the night of his actual birthday.  Here they are in their costumes:

Getting Ready

It's almost time.  Getting ready for the 5th birthday of my sweet boy!

 The spider is a new ornament for his birthday ring.  It is to represent his last birthday and the transition from three to four.  There will be a new one added as soon as I finish it.  It will commemorate this birthday party (and the last year).  It's a skull for my sweet macabre little man.

And here we are getting treat bags filled up while he's at preschool. 

Crafting

I haven't posted much lately because between school and my job I have very little free time.  In that free time I'm crafting.  My boy's birthday is nearly here and I promised him a quilt.  A whole quilt.  There's a lot more too.  I'll have pictures for you soon.  But for now, I've got to get back to my sewing machine.

Pecans!

Our yard is full of them!  I was afraid we wouldn't get any because the squirrels have been "snacking" on them for weeks, but our giant tree is prolific! 

A night with friends

Fall nights are best spent with friends.
