Getting back into “the swing of things” is always so rough for us. I know that I’m a creature of habit, but my little people surpass me in their need for order and structure. So we’ve had some less than stellar days and nights. Knock on wood, today went better than the last few days.
Yesterday we attended a pirate princess birthday party. I really hope I can post the picture of the kids next to the pirate ship (hint, hint, Sara). (Ha! Here it is)
While the kids and I were at the party, N was bringing home the new front and back doors. He’s now got one side primed and the PURPLE paint ready to go. I LOVE living in our rainbow, so cheery! We also got the Crestview windows ordered for the front door. We went with the “Romerio”.
This week Saff pulled herself into a standing position. She’s almost crawling. She’s sooooo very close. So in honor of this next gross motor accomplishment, I spent today beautifying “baby jail”. Since we co-sleep the crib is just a place to set her so I can run to the bathroom. I lowered the mattress to the lowest setting and I finished putting up the wall decals. Here’s a shot of her room. Here’s a close-up.
N let me have a few moments of girl time this morning. I had tea with my mama friends at Goldfish Tea in downtown Royal Oak. We all bring a craft project (mostly knitting) and chat. I finished another farmer. This one to give as a birthday gift. I also got a chance to work on my next couple of craft swap items. I’ll post pictures of those soon.
Finally, since I love to thrift, but can’t remember what I already have, I created an Excel document to track the kids’ wardrobes. If I figure out how to attach a spreadsheet, I’ll do it. I spent quite a while on it and it might be useful to you other mamas. (Not able to attach, e-mail me if you want me to send you the spreadsheet.) You fill in what you think the kids will need and then keep an inventory in the next column. That way when you run accross a fabulous pair of pants in size 4T, you'll know to skip them because you already have all you'll need of that size. Or get them anyway!
Tuesday is the first day of preschool. I can't wait. R's not quite as excited as I am. I'll try to get pictures!

That pirate ship in the yard is amazing. I was in royal Oak when the invitation arrived and Ronin was so excited about the map. Nonna
