Using Fred's apples and a couple craft updates

This week has been a bit of a blur. We had our normal attachment parenting play date on Monday, but I didn't make it. We stayed home instead (it was rainy) and I couldn't get us motivated for a busy home play date.
Tuesday I worked at R's preschool. It's cooperative so I work about once a month. N worked from home so that he could take care of Saff. Wednesday we stayed home. I'm making Wednesday stay-home day. Thursday was preschool and I ran some errands during that time. I LOVE being able to run errands with just one child, makes it soooo much easier.
Last night I learned that my Dad's recent bout of "trouble" is another heart attack (caught early). He goes in for a heart cath in the morning. If you are so inclined, please send some light and love to him: John McClellan.

So on this sad, rainy day the kids and I spent it with a friend and her two little ones. I haven't been terribly upbeat, as I am very worried for my dad, so I'm not sure we were very good company today. Regardless, she offered me hot coffee and pleasant distraction. God bless her!

Here are a few pictures from a couple of days ago. I put Fred's apples to good use (but haven't made that batch of applesauce yet)...

Fried apples over ice cream can not be beat!

I'm about 1/4 of the way done with my second set of "rainbow" themed craft swap...
They are going to be a wall hanging/mobile type of thing.

And if I wasn't already trying to do enough, I've got the prototype done for the "birds, bugs, and bees" swap finished.

It's a red bird brooch. I though it might be cute on a child's hat or on a mama's scarf.

Finally, I'm making an extra set when I make these last few swaps. I hope to open an Etsy store in the next month or so. Very exciting stuff!
